Secret Sauce
Growing up, my mom made something called “Secret Sauce”. We ate it with our nuggets, with our fish sticks, with chicken, on burgers, or with fries! It was the best. She told us part of the recipe, but we never really cared because it was so good!
This week in class we talked at length about leadership and trust-building. We learned about going from good to great! They talked about Level 5 Leaders and how they are humbling, attributing their success to luck instead of savvy or smarts. We learned about working with honesty and candor. They suggested you stick to what you do best with the best people. But my favorite part was the secret sauce of business they suggested.
Want to know what it was?
Trust others! Yup. It’s as simple as that! In this world today it can easily feel negative and hid secrets. It can be easy to assume. This week we learned that when you create a culture where you can trust others, others will trust you back. Some of the greatest brands are built on trust. Learn to seek out how to help others and trust that you can meet their needs. Respect your clients. Respect your competition.
When you learn to trust others and show that you are ethical, you will attract ethical trustful people.
Also… I secret sauce is pretty simple and there was no secret really. It was one part ketchup and one part mayo. Sounds gross. But it is awesome! TRUST ME!
